QEEG Brain Mapping in Syosset, Long Island

A QEEG brain map is where every treatment plan at Healthy Mind begins. In two appointments at our Syosset office, we record your brain's electrical activity, compare it with a normative database, and walk you through what we found and what we recommend. The complete brain map is $750, private pay. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

What is a QEEG brain map?

QEEG stands for quantitative electroencephalogram. Like a standard EEG, it uses sensors on the scalp to record the brain's electrical activity. The difference is what happens next: a QEEG applies statistical analysis to that recording and compares it with a database of people of a similar age. The result is a set of maps that show where your brain's activity patterns fall inside or outside the typical range.

1. Capture the data.

2. Analyze the recordings.

3. Treat the source.

A brain map shows how different brainwave frequencies (delta, theta, alpha, beta and gamma) are distributed across the brain, and how well different regions communicate with each other. We use those patterns to decide what to train, where, and with which method.

We record from 19 sites across the scalp and compare your data with the NeuroGuide age-matched normative database. sLORETA source analysis estimates where in the brain each pattern originates.

A QEEG is not a standalone diagnostic test. It doesn't diagnose ADHD, depression or any other condition on its own, and it isn't a substitute for a medical EEG or a neurological exam. It's a tool for planning neurotherapy. If anything in your recording suggests you should see a physician, we'll tell you.
